Water Law

In order to effectively respond to the ever-present threat that climate change poses, it is necessary for domestic consumers to reevaluate how our society utilizes and distributes water. Both the public and private sectors have made concerted efforts in recent years to identify legal strategies and technological solutions for addressing this issue. We have extensive experience with the legal, political, and administrative frameworks surrounding interstate water compacts and associated interstate issues are well suited to address the regulatory and compliance challenges presented by impending water shortages.

Our practitioners have decades of experience representing clients in mediating with local, state, and federal government authorities concerning water issues that impact our clients both with respect to existing uses and with respect to future development.

Ensuring that our clients’ industrial and municipal discharges comply with regulatory effluent limitations is a critical aspect of our practice. Our firm also has extensive experience with waterway protection programs via incentive systems pertinent to the Clean Water Act.
