Water Resources

The United States maintains approximately 2,500 dams and pumped-storage facilities that each provide roughly 100 gigawatts of electricity. There are an additional 80,000 non-powered dams (i.e. existing structures that could produce electricity). These non-powered dams present an opportunity to significantly increase domestic hydropower energy output at a low cost. We understand the policies currently in place pertinent to hydropower development (e.g. Order No. 841 issued by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission) and how to best comply with relevant state and Federal regulations.

We also have expertise in the convergence between energy production and sustainable water usage. Specifically, we understand the nuances of wastewater-to- energy technology and wave/tidal power generation after working extensively on the subject with both domestic and international industry leaders.
